About Sounds of NYC

The project began in New York in 2016 when I, (Sara Becker, a comedy writer and creative director), found myself standing on a subway platform surrounded by the grind of voices and metal. I realized that while I found comfort in the chorus swirling around me, I had no idea who it was coming from. I knew I had to find a way to give credit where it was due and illuminate the humans behind the voices.
